Stuff, i Guess

Before I get into talking about the pretest, here are some links to articles which discuss significant digits, and a basic example:
Article
Article II
Of course, there will be some redundancy between two articles on the same topic, but still some different useful information on each. And after typing that, it's reminded me how much I would like to be able to indent on here. Anyway, here's the example:

So, yesterday we took a pretest. I guessed on the majority of it, not a great way to start the second quarter. I wouldn't say there's any reason to worry, since it was just a pretest. Also, today was a really easy day, just reviewing pretty much. I don't know what last year was like for howell, but i'd assume it wasn't far off from chs. Although, we also covered significant digits last year, and yesterday I learned that I retained nothing about them. This is on a way different topic, but, this is a lot different than I thought it would be. i thought it would be more like a journal, which I thought would be awkward because I already have one. Also, i vary between I and i a lot while typing...

  1. I liked the point the first article made about the way the amount of sig figs in each number implies the accuracy of the measurement, because that is a true statement. Like, if you say that there are 100 people in a room, then it would be assumed that the number if people in the room was estimated, however, were you to say that here was 117 people in that room, then one would then the general feeling would be that you had counted the exact amount of people in the room and had accurate results.

  2. Great examples that cleared up some questions from the test. Thank you for that. I also didn't know you played guitar. I play as well. I am going out on a limb to say you play metal with some of the ESP's I saw on your profile. Very cool!
